Common questions
How do I refer someone to Street Life Ministries?
There is no referral form or intake process — the simplest path is to bring them to a meal service at any of our three locations, or reach out through our Contact page and our team will walk you through next steps.
Does Street Life Ministries coordinate with other agencies or caseworkers?
Yes. We regularly connect the people we serve to case management, housing, and detox resources through partner organizations — see More Resources below, including the IMAT case-management support line.
What if the person I'm helping doesn't want faith-based support?
Faith is never a condition of receiving help. A short Biblical message is shared before most meals, but anyone can come for the meal, clothing, or supplies without participating.
Is there a cost, or an insurance/eligibility requirement?
No. Everything Street Life Ministries offers directly is free, with no eligibility screening or insurance requirement.
Can I volunteer or give on behalf of someone, or toward a specific need?
Yes — you can sponsor a specific, named item (like a meal, a hygiene kit, or a night of shelter support) on our Donate page, or sign up to volunteer directly.
What if they need shelter tonight, not just a meal?
Call 211 for immediate shelter placement — real people answer 24/7, at no cost. Our team can also connect them to Freedom House, our residential recovery program, and to partner shelters like LifeMoves and Samaritan House.
Are you the one who needs help, rather than helping someone else? See our Homeless Assistance page — written directly for you.
Thank you for showing up for someone.
Sponsor a specific need, or reach out with questions — a real person will help.
