Street Life Ministries is led by people who've spent years building real relationships on the street — not just running programs from behind a desk.

Lead Pastor & Executive Director

Since becoming SLM's director in 2007, David has expanded the reach of the ministry to bringing a hot meal and the Word of God four nights a week in two different urban centers, as well as personally connecting hundreds of people to drug and alcohol treatment centers and shelters. Dave's wife Shawn works alongside him, leading the women's outreach. They are blessed with Isaiah, their son.

Program Manager

Vicky came to Street Life Ministries in 2012, and returned in 2016 after a two-year absence. She has a corporate managerial background in engineering, technical support, customer service, and quotations, and found her true calling at SLM. She works hand-in-hand with Executive Director David Shearin, and re-vamped the Clothing Closet into the prosperous project it is today.

Development Manager

Nicholas was born and raised in the Bay Area and is glad to be giving back to the community that gave him so much. He is responsible for grant writing, donor and project management, and a variety of other tasks. He is passionate about working to end the cycles of addiction and poverty.

Kitchen Manager

Lori began volunteering in 2023 and officially joined Street Life Ministries in June 2025. As kitchen manager, she expresses her care through food, turning meals into a way to nourish and connect. In her free time she volunteers across the Bay Area, supporting unhoused people in many ways.

Outreach Coordinator

Danny was an unhoused Veteran with substance abuse issues and PTSD. Thanks to God and a twelve-step program, he has been clean and sober since August 30th, 2019. As Outreach Coordinator, he brings a loving and compassionate approach to serving our unhoused neighbors on the street.

Outreach Assistant

TJ is the youngest member of the Street Life Ministries team and a student in San Mateo. He joined in 2024 through YMSL, became a table captain at the Redwood City site, and now helps organize outreach, manage programs, and support individuals transitioning into shelters.

Development Specialist / Site Supervisor

Ethan's journey at Street Life started in 2021 washing dishes at Peninsula Covenant Church; in 2025 he joined the grant team. When he's not working on development for Street Life, he interns at a human rights law firm, coaches his mock trial team, and spends time at the Redwood City site.

Social Media and Communication Manager

Jeremy is a media and communications specialist in the Bay Area who came to Street Life in 2022. He handles content writing, photography, and video production for the ministry, and feels moved to help uplift those in our community who most need it.

Clothing Closet Manager

Debbie began volunteering in the clothing closet in 2016 and joined the SLM team as Clothing Closet Manager in 2023. Beyond the closet, she picks up donations, drives the food van, and keeps the Redwood City lot welcoming. She believes everyone deserves dignity, care, and compassion.

Board Member

Craig and his family have been part of the Half Moon Bay community for over 23 years. He made the transition into full-time ministry from executive management in high technology business, and now runs a construction business and serves as an elder at Redeeming Grace Church.

Board Member

Ernie worked with youth for 20 years as a Youth Pastor. He currently serves as the Missions Pastor at Trinity Church of Sunnyvale, overseeing the Gateway Neighborhood Center and all local and global missions, partnering with organizations to serve the homeless in Sunnyvale.

Board Member

Rick came to the San Francisco Bay Area to pastor Berean Bible Church in 1998. He holds degrees from UCLA and The Master's Seminary, and his goal is to help plant missional churches and unite like-minded churches for the mission of God's redemption in the Bay Area.
