Redwood City Homeless Services

Street Life Ministries has served the Redwood City homeless and at-risk community since 2001 — hot meals, clothing, and a path toward recovery. We meet urgent needs today and help people move toward long-term stability and permanent housing.

What to expect

No sign-up, no ID, no conditions — just come as you are. Beyond the meal, our team can connect you to clothing, medical supplies, and referrals to housing and case management through our partner organizations.

Want to get connected to Freedom House, our residential recovery program? Come talk with our team at a meal service, or reach out directly.

Homeless Shelter in Redwood City

A hot meal is usually the first step, not the whole answer. Here's where to turn for shelter itself.

Street Life Ministries isn't a walk-in shelter today, but our team can connect you directly to one at a meal service, or you can reach out any time through our Contact page. We're also building Freedom House, a twelve-month residential recovery program — the first of its kind between San Francisco and San Jose.

For shelter tonight, two of our Redwood City partner organizations run dedicated shelter and navigation services: LifeMoves, one of the largest shelter and homeless-services providers in the Bay Area, and Samaritan House, a San Mateo County safety-net nonprofit. You can also call 211 any time, day or night, for emergency shelter placement — see More Resources below.
